Competence-based approach to teaching the discipline «hygiene» in training of medical students obtaining specialist degree

The presence of a large number of a medical professional standards requires a careful and meaningful
approach to the development of educational standards for bachelors and specialists, including all
sections of preventive, sanitary and sanitary-educational work in medical organizations. On the basis of
educational standards, work programs and educational and methodical complexes are created for all
disciplines taught. Modern achievements of science and technology allow to build the educational process
on a new, fundamentally different level, increasing motivation, stimulating students’ self-study, expanding
the possibilities of distance learning and providing adequate assessment of knowledge at all stages of
training (interim assessment). However, despite the high potential, there are still problems in student
teaching, which can be resolved by open interaction and cooperation between professionals of scientific
and educational medical clusters.
