The article focuses on the internship, which is one of the tools for formation and development of professional competencies among healthcare professionals. As an example, a course developed at the Ophthalmology Department of Continuing professional education faculty, Institute of Professional Education of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University (Pirogov University), for doctors working in the laser refractive surgery field, is given.
