History of medicine To the 100th anniversary of the birth of academician Yuri Mikhailovich Lopukhin – a prominent scientist, brilliant leader, outstanding doctor and talented teacher

The article analyzes various aspects of the scientific heritage of Academician Yu.M. Lopukhin. The authors characterized his role in the development of topographic anatomy and operative surgery. The article also reflects the concept developed by Yu.M. Lopukhin regarding the issues of transplantology. This paper reveals the importance of his scientific works and organizational efforts for the development of immunology and the educational process in general at the 2nd MOLGMI named after N.I. Pirogov. The authors managed to characterize the role of Academician Lopukhin in the formation of efferent medicine and hemosorption methods. The article examines his contribution to the humanitarization of medical education and his role in the education of the younger generation of doctors.

The article presents the scientific achievements, educational activities and traditions of the Department of Otolaryngology of the Faculty of Additional Professional Education of the Institute of Continuous Education and Professional Development of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University. Modern trends in the field of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery are described. An interdisciplinary approach to science and education is one of the principles of the department: teachers are highly qualified specialists not only in otolaryngology, but also in surdology, oncology, phoniatrics, vestibulology, allergology and pediatrics.

Method Experience of conducting interim certification using a modified form of the case method for 1st and 2nd year students in the specialty 31.08.05 «Clinical laboratory diagnostics»

The article presents the experience of implementing a modified case method during the midterm assessment of residents of the 1st and 2nd years of study in the specialty 31.08.05 «Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics» after the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th semesters. This approach is aimed at assessing the development of general professional and professional competencies (GPPC, PC), increasing the motivation of students, as well as developing supra-professional (communicative, creative, leadership) competencies. The authors describe the methodological basis for using the case method, provide arguments in favor of choosing this assessment tool, and demonstrate the connection with the professional standard «Specialist in Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics».

Method Interdisciplinary training is the basis of palliative care education. Experience of the palliative Pediatrics Department of Pirogov University

Training of doctors within their specialty (usually one, sometimes several) is fixed in regulatory documents and at the moment is already an established, habitual activity. In some cases, training involves improving competencies within the framework of the position held. In the case of palliative medical care, when a separate specialty is not identified and fixed in legislative acts, the formation of competencies can be carried out both for the possibility of working as a doctor in palliative medical care, and within another specialized specialty.Teaching palliative medical care to children at the Department of Palliative Pediatrics of Pirogov University has a 10-year history. The article describes the experience of the department in providing interdisciplinary training, reflects the key points that are the fundamental foundations of education on palliative medical care for children and which can give an advantage in competition with unscrupulous players in the educational market.
