The article provides an overview of current Russian Federation regulations governing the teaching of medical law in medical universities across various specialties. The legal basis for teaching medical law in medical schools stems from the need to develop the legal literacy of future medical professionals. The primary goal of teaching medical law is to provide future physicians with the necessary knowledge of healthcare laws, teach them how to correctly interpret healthcare regulations, evaluate unlawful actions and/or inactions, and anticipate their potential legal consequences. The work analyzes not only the basic federal laws, but also the contradictions in the by-laws regulating the professional activities of doctors.
