The article reviews the scientific, clinical, pedagogical and organizational activity of Academician Gennady I. Storozhakov. It shows the implementation made by G. I. Storozhakov and his scientific school into the development of modern diagnostic methods (echocardiography, ultrasound methods) and treatment of internal diseases. The Academician and his followers made notable contributions to cardiology, rheumatology, gastroenterology, hepatology and pulmonology. Academician Gennady I. Storozhakov devoted significant time to the pedagogical activity while serving in an acting capacity as Vice Chancellor of Russian State Medical University/Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University and as Head of Department of Hospital Therapy No. 2. Employees of the Department currently continue traditions of scientific, clinical and pedagogical activity established by the Academician.
