Yu. M. Lopukhin and biomedical ethics

The article is devoted to the analysis of the contribution of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yu. M. Lopukhin to the formation of the theoretical bioethical direction and its practical implementation in the system of humanitarian and medical knowledge of the country. Based on the works of Yu. M. Lopukhin, the features of his understanding of the goals and objectives of modern bioethics were identified. He included among them the ethical assessment of state regulation of scientific research, the problem of acceptability and unacceptability of scientific research; criteria for the work of ethical committees and ethical reviews in the field of experiments on humans, the ethics of scientific publications. The special contribution of the scientist to the organization of teaching biomedical ethics in medical higher and secondary schools of Russia is analyzed. His works are not only a methodological and educational basis for teaching bioethics, but also the protection of human life and health, moral values of the relationship between a doctor and a patient.
