Competence approach in medical residents training on in specialty 31.08.58 – “otorhinolaryngology”

The paper describes the ways of residents’ training improvement in specialty 31.08.58 “Otorhinolaryngology” which is used in Federal National Medical Research Centre of Otorhinolaryngology of FMBA. Our analysis was based on principles of competence approach. We analyzed the concepts of “competencies”, "competence" and "professional readiness". We suggest some qualitative characteristics of the residents’ professional competencies formation levels and the instruments of step-by-step evaluation of such characteristics depending on educational stage. The results of the article prove that the implementation of innovative educational technologies (situation tasks, simulative models and etc.) improves formation of residents’ professional competences.
