The Department of Forensic Medicine has existed for more than 115 years and has a rich history, connected with both the people who led it and with the scientific activities of the Department. Pyotr Andreevich Minakov, one of the prominent representatives of the forensic medicine school, whose name today is proudly carried by the Department of Forensic Medicine, has begun the scientific development of the Department.

The heads of the department replaced each other, forever bringing to history their achievements, originality, breadth of views, erudition and now all employees of the Department hold this high bar with their achievements in science, in work with students and medical residents.
