Original research How to evalute the informativeness of online-courses for healthcare professionals in the framework of continuous education
Reznik-Orskaya MA, Kuznetsova AA
To date, only a few researchers work on the issue of evaluating the quality of online courses. This problem is highly relevant, but not sufficiently developed. And its solution, in our opinion, is directly related to the assessment of the informativeness of online courses. The purpose of the study is to develop a set of principles for evaluating the informativeness of a special type of online courses, the interactive educational modules for continuing education of healthcare professionals. These modules are accessed through an online learning platform, the portal for continuing medical and pharmaceutical education.

Original research Institutional factors of the formation of a research direction on the problems of continuous medical education presented by publications in leading world scientific journals
Morgun AN, Prirodova OF, Nikishina VB
Institutional factors (organizations, authors, countries, journals) of the development of a research direction on the problems of continuous medical education are analyzed on the material of the array of publications in leading world medical scientific journals indexed by the Web of Science information platform on the topic of continuous education over the past 45 years. A comparative scientometric characteristic of the institutional factors in the development of the direction is given. The bibliometric mapping method identifies leaders on these factors which determine the main trends in research on continuous medical education. Conclusions about the locations of the main institutional factors that shape the direction of research are made. Possible areas for continuing bibliometric research in continuous medical education are identified.

Original research Using virtual reality technologies to practice the algorithm of emergency medical care
Reznik EV, Krasnopolskiy IV, Potemkina MN, Prirodova OF
The use of computer-based virtual reality (VR) technologies in the educational process is continuously increasing for a variety of professional activities. Medical education is one of the examples, where such efforts are particularly visible. Today’s VR products provide the maximum immersion into a virtual environment and active interaction with their components. These VR products are becoming increasingly more popular, even in comparison with pseudo-3D simulators. VR facilitates the development of the abilities for precision work as much as mechanical skills. In emergency medical care, it is particularly important to practice the skills requiring specialized knowledge and abilities. In this work, we discuss VR-simulators built to practice the algorithm of emergency medical assistance in a maximally realistic environment.

Original research Bibliometric mapping of research on continuing education
Morgun AN, Prirodova OF, Nikishina VB
The paper analyzes an array of scientific publications on continuing education over the past 45 years using the method of bibliometric mapping. We consider as units of analysis both (1) the collaborations of authors, organizations, and countries participating in scientific research on continuing education, as well as (2) keywords as indicators of thematic areas in the stream of publications on continuing education. We characterize the scientometric indicators of scientific directions in research on continuing education. Our analysis shows the high positive dynamics of publication productivity and the dominance of two main scientific areas in continuing education research: medicine (healthcare) and education itself. Our analysis also reveals a weak transcollaborative connection between (1) the authors of scientific research on continuing education and (2) the formation of groups of authors for conducting single studies. We further notice an expansion of the terminological (and, as a consequence, problemological) content of studies on continuing education towards interdisciplinary communication and the use of information technologies.

Сenturies, programs of education have changed, but the full-time education of students at the department was constant.  Distance learning appeared at the department as a forced measure in self-isolation during the 2020 pandemic.
